AUGUSTA, Georgia — The FBI has arrested a Charlotte man who they said was a fugitive in a North Carolina homicide.
In a news release, agents said they, with the help of the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, arrested 23-year-old Jayquwan Newmones in Augusta, Georgia.
Newmones was found hiding in the bedroom of a home in Augusta Thursday night. Officials said he had significantly “altered his appearance.”
Last month, officials in Beaufort County, North Carolina, issued a murder warrant for Newmones in connection with the Christmas Eve shooting death of Timothy Moore in Belhaven.
Earlier this week, two other suspects, Khalif Newmones, 25, and Alicia Polen, 27, were also taken into custody in Augusta, agents said.
Both are facing charges of accessory after the fact to murder.
All three suspects are currently jailed in Richmond County, Georgia.
