Former firefighter pleads guilty to embezzlement

LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — A former firefighter pleaded guilty to stealing more than $20,000 from two fire departments.
 
Lee Thomas Keever was sentenced to 60 months of probation and given six to 17 months  suspended sentence.

Keever allegedly filed fake credit card invoices to the East Lincoln and Denver fire departments to get reimbursed for classes he didn't take and services he never completed.
