Gaston Co. house fire ruled accidental Saturday

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — A house was a total loss in Gaston County after a fire broke out Saturday, according to the Gastonia Fire Department.

Firefighters were called at 2:17 p.m. to the home on Overhead Bridge Road.

Smoke and flames were coming from the front and rear of the home when firefighters arrived.

Gastonia firefighters battled the flames until the blaze was extinguished in 20 minutes.
No injuries to firefighters or civilians were reported.

Due to the extensive damage caused by the fire, the structure is a total loss.

The Gaston County Fire Investigations Task Force has ruled the fire as accidental.
