Huntersville woman poured vodka in boy's eyes, police say

CLEARWATER, Fla. — A Huntersville woman has been arrested after police said she poured vodka in a boy's eyes at a hotel pool in Florida.

WFLA-TV reports Clearwater police said 23-year-old Roseanna Marie Kiser was arrested Tuesday and charged with child abuse and battery on a law enforcement officer.

Police said Kiser was intoxicated at the Sheraton Sand Key Hotel in Clearwater Beach when she became upset with the boy because he splashed water near her.

Police said she opened a bottle of vodka and poured some of it onto the boy's eyes and face before grabbing and pushing him into the pool.

An arrest report said Kiser kicked a police officer in the groin with her foot during her arrest.

One neighbor described Kiser as a quiet woman who kept to herself.

She said she last saw Kiser tending her plants outside her home in this quiet Huntersville community.

But the police report has other neighbors asking why she isn't still in a Florida jail.

"She had no idea how to take care of herself," Dan Leahy said.

"Whether you have been drinking or not drinking there is no excuse for mishandling a child," Leahy said.

Clearwater police arrested Kiser on Tuesday. She got out on bond the same day.

Both the officer and 7-year-old boy are fine.

Kiser faces charges including child abuse, battered of a law enforcement officer, resisting and officer with violence and failure to leave a public service establishment.

It's unclear whether she has an attorney.
