CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. — North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory was in Catawba County Monday morning for a big economic announcement.
The governor said Corning Inc. plans to expand, adding more than 200 jobs.
Afterwards, McCrory spoke about the importance of letting the investigation into Charlotte's officer-involved shooting proceed, and said he's working closely with city officials before making a decision whether the National Guard will be pulled out.
"I've committed to the police chief that we will give him the resources necessary based on the current circumstances, and I hope these men and women get to go home soon," McCrory said.
The governor also said he plans on meeting with leaders from the faith-based community over the next several days.
