Possible showers Thursday night; Higher chance over weekend

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — On Thursday, the Charlotte area experienced a high of 90 degrees and so far, no rain. A few showers may pop up in the evening, but this will not affect a large area.

The chances for storms will increase over the next few days, peaking on Saturday at 50 percent.

Most of the storms will be late in the day, but on Saturday, the Charlotte area could experience these storms earlier.

The rain chances will remain between 40 percent and 50 percent into early next week.

Over the weekend, the temperatures will be in the upper 80s, right around the averages for this time of year.

Looking ahead to next week, the heat will be returning to the Charlotte area starting mid-week and lasting through the Fourth of July weekend.
