Charlotte barbershop to host free tutoring

A Charlotte barber and 50 volunteers are ready to turn his shop into a school house.

Shaun Corbett, owner of Da Lucky Spot Barbershop on North Tryon Street, will bring in tutors to work with students in need of academic help.

On November 6th and 7th from 4PM until 6PM, volunteers will tutor any student who needs it – from kindergarten to college age.

"We hear a lot about statistics, but a mother of an 8th grade student whose child reads at a 5th grade level doesn't care about statistics. A mother wants to get that child help," Corbett says.  "I just want to give back to my community."

Parents are required to sign their children up in in advance by emailing DaLuckySpot@Motivationmktg.net.
