Charlotte PPE company to give away free face masks

A Charlotte-based personal protective equipment company is working to keep residents safe from the spread of the coronavirus.

NC PPE, LLC will be giving away 10,000 protective face masks on June 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Artisan Kitchen & Bath, 800 Clanton Road Suite W.

In a press release, the organization said, “Too many people either cannot afford masks or they cannot find masks. We feel it is our responsibility to help those as we have the PPE people need.”

NC PPE, LLC sources personal protective equipment, such as medical masks, face shields, goggles and surgical gowns for healthcare workers.

The giveaway event comes at a critical time when masks are in heavy demand and deemed necessary to stopping the spread of the virus.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that Americans wear cloth face coverings while in public settings. This prevents asymptomatic people from transmitting the virus to others.

During the giveaway, masks will be limited to five per person.

Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations in support of local food banks serving those who have lost their job during the pandemic.
