One hundred beds were delivered to area children in need while they attended today's "Hoops and Dreams" event.

The Hornets and Ashley HomeStore once again partnered with Charlotte non-profit Beds for Kids for the third annual “Hoops and Dreams” event.

The event provides a unique, fun and engaging experience for children in need. Participants received lunch, watched a dunk show by Super Hugo, and participated in a basketball clinic with Hornets Hoops coaches and a dance clinic with the Honey Bees.

While the children were at the arena, Beds for Kids volunteers delivered new beds, donated by Ashley HomeStore, to surprise the children when they return home. Hornets forward/center Frank Kaminsky was on hand to help with the basketball clinic.

At the end of the event, the curtains opened up to show Charlotte Hornet mascot Hugo, and the kids were told they were going home to a new bed.
