HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say an 85-year-old woman died in an early-morning house fire on Hilton Head Island.
The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office says deputies and firefighters responded about 4 a.m. Friday. After the fire was extinguished, the office confirmed one person died.
The coroner's office identified the victim as Annie Mae Bolden.
Deputy Coroner David Ott told The Island Packet of Hilton Head that an autopsy scheduled later Friday will determine how she died.
It's not yet known what caused the fire.
