Edwards Helps Matthews Butler Win 4-AA Title 44 - 0

Jahwan Edwards rushed for 170 yards and three touchdowns to help Matthews Butler beat Wake Forest-Rolesville 44-0 on Saturday for the Class 4-AA North Carolina High School Athletic Association championship.

Austin Stewart had two interceptions, including one he returned 93 yards for a touchdown, for the Bulldogs (16-0).

Butler won its second consecutive state title and extended its winning streak to 31 games.

Durham Hillside 40, Davie County 0 (Final)

Vad Lee threw for three touchdowns as Durham Hillside shut out Davie County 40-0 on Saturday to win the Class 4-A North Carolina High School Athletic Association championship.

Lee, named the game's most valuable player, finished with 264 yards passing on 14 of 25 completions as the Hornets (16-0) capped an undefeated season with their first state title.

Northern Guilford 21, Crest Chargers 20 (Final)

Rocco Scarfone passed for 128 yards and three touchdowns to help Northern Guilford beat Shelby Crest 21-20 Saturday night for the Class 3-AA North Carolina High School Athletic Association championship.

Maurice Harris had three catches for 61 yards and two touchdowns, including the go-ahead 4-yard score midway through the fourth quarter, for the Nighthawks (14-2).

Northern Guilford won its first state title in the school's fourth year of existence.

West Rowan 34, Eastern Alamance 7 (Final)

West Rowan Defeats Eastern Alamance 34 - 7

Dinkin Miller rushed for 211 yards and a touchdown to help West Rowan beat Eastern Alamance 34-7 on Saturday for the Class 3-A North Carolina High School Athletic Association championship.

B.J. Sherrill ran for one touchdown and passed for another score for the Falcons (16-0), who knocked off Eastern Alamance in the state final for the second year in a row.

West Rowan won its third consecutive state title and extended its winning streak to 46 games.

WSOC-TV Salisbury 21 Salisbury 21 SALISBURY

Dominique Dismuke scored two touchdowns and Salisbury shut down Northeastern 30-0 on Saturday night to win the Class 2-AA North Carolina High School Athletic Association championship.

Game MVP Romar Morris added 97 yards rushing and a touchdown, Brian Bauk had a 6-yard touchdown run in the fourth, and David Simons went 3-for-4 on extra points and hit a 20-yard field goal for the Hornets (13-3), who won in their first appearance in a state title game.

Todd Gurley II scored a pair of touchdowns and Markel Howell returned an interception for a score as the Tarboro Vikings defeated Carver 21-13 to win their second straight 2A Championship.

Albemarle 21, Pender 7 (Final)

Albemarle Beats Pender County 21-7 For 1-AA Title

Nat Dunlap threw three touchdown passes Friday night to help Albemarle beat Pender County 21-7 for the Class 1-AA North Carolina High School Athletic Association championship.

Desi Dockery had two catches, both touchdowns, for 59 yards as the Bulldogs (12-4) won their second straight state title and fifth in the last 10 years.

Wallace Rose Hill 22, Murphy 21 (Final)

Murphy's football team failed to convert any following three touchdowns Saturday, and the wasted opportunities came back to bite the Bulldogs in the NCHSAA 1-A championship game.

Wallace-Rose Hill junior Omar Carr rushed for all but 24 of his 152 yards in the second half of a 22-21 win at Kenan Stadium.
