There were some unique collaborations, including Miranda Lambert performing with Meghan Trainor and Ariana Grande taking the stage with Little Big Town.

Kenny Chesney had not performed in the CMA Awards for two years. This year he took the stage after releasing a new album. His first single is "American Kids."

Surprisingly, Jason Aldean's name was not on the list of nominees. Some fans say he was snubbed.

The first trailer for the 2015 season of "The Bachelor" aired during the show. Although the new season of "The Bachelor" doesn't air until Jan. 5, viewers got a glimpse of Chris Soules and his contestants a couple of months early.
