CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Students started asking what to do next after Brookstone College in northeast Charlotte closed suddenly.
They wanted to know what they should do after spending time, effort and money into the for-profit college.
Action 9 reporter Jason Stoogenke talked to the head of the school.
Students about to graduate
Students about to graduate just have to do an externship for about five weeks and they're done.
Students still taking classes
Students who aren't ready to graduate have to find another school. Four colleges are offering a chance to enroll those students:
All four colleges are close to Brookstone with Southeaster Institute being the farthest away -- 18 miles.
All four feel optimistic students' credits will transfer, at least most credits, officials said.
"We've actually taken a thorough review of what they took at Brookstone and we've matched it up to what we have at Kaplan," Kaplan executive director Tenika Glenn said. "Very similar and we've matched those things up and it's going to be a seamless transition for the students."
Money
Prices may vary and students who borrow money should make sure their loans transfer.
Transcripts
Since Brookstone will be closed, the school is turning transcripts over to the state archives. Action 9 was told they should be available there in a few weeks.
Brookstone says the best way to find out updates is on its website.
