Action 9: Children's clothing shop racks up complaints

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Customers across the country are upset with a children's clothing store in Cherryville.
 
People in 19 states complained about A Little Pink Boutique to the Better Business Bureau, saying they didn't get their orders or got orders that were wrong.
 
A Little Pink Boutique conducts a lot of its business online.
 
Melissa Camarata loves dressing her 2-year-old daughter, Kylie Camarata.
 
She said she went online to A Little Pink Boutique and bought two outfits for $25 each.
 
"They usually sell for quite a pretty penny and they were pretty affordable, so I think moms jumped on that," she said.
 
But she said weeks went by without the products. 
 
"It had gone into five weeks, six weeks, seven weeks," she said. "I got it at right after the eight-week mark." 
 
And she said the order was not right. 
 
One outfit was the wrong size, and another was long-sleeve instead of short-sleeve, and the seam was coming undone, Camarata said.
 
"She wore this (for) not even 30 minutes, and it's falling apart," she said.
 
A Little Pink Boutique wouldn't take them back, she said.
 
"We work hard for our money, and when you don't get the product that you want or you thought you were getting or you don't get your product at all," she said. 
 
Camarata complained online.
 
As of Tuesday, the BBB reported 64 complaints against the business since December and said 37 of those weren't resolved or answered. It gives the store an F rating.  
 
Some customers also reported the business to Action 9.
 
When the business found out, workers reached out to Action 9 reporter Jason Stoogenke.
 
The business emailed Stoogenke saying that it takes its operation very seriously and offered to discuss the complaints.
 
But when Action 9 took the business up on its offer, it backed off.
 
"At this time we will be declining this offer as we are working diligently to better serve our customers and ship all orders as quickly as possible," business officials told Action 9.

Always remember, if you buy anything online, the business has 30 days to deliver the item, or tell you there's a delay and offer a full refund.  If it doesn't, it's breaking federal law, called the Mail or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule.
