None — A Concord woman said her bank kept her money after she mistakenly sent her online mortgage payments to the wrong address.
Sherry Levine said she uses her bank's online bill paying service to make her monthly mortgage payments, but in April she found out she was three months behind.
"All of these [checks] are made out to Bank of America, but they never got the money," Levine said.
Levine said she sent three checks, totaling $5,300, using Wachovia's online bill paying service.
Later, she discovered Bank of America never got the checks because she mistakenly entered the wrong mailing address. However, Levine said Wachovia still took the money out of her account and held it.
Then, she said she couldn't get the money back.
"This whole thing has been a total nightmare to me," she said. "I can't get answers. Most of what they say is, ‘We're still looking into it.' For four months, they're looking into it. I mean, come on."
Action 9 called Wachovia about Levine's issue and a spokesman said he'd look into it.
Two days later, he called back and said they had located Levine's $5,300 and were crediting it back to her account.
Levine said a Wachovia representative contacted her and told her they would write a letter to Bank of America explaining what happened.
Levine said the experience taught her to check for accuracy when paying bills online.
"So, you got to look at what you're doing very carefully with the banks," she said.
