Bojangles' Shamrock Drive Raises $300,000, Breaks Record

None — Bojangles' set out to raise a record-breaking amount of money for patients of neuromuscular diseases and shattered even their own goal, the company announced Thursday.

The company, famous for their chicken and biscuits, set a goal to raise $250,000 through an in-store fundraising campaign, Shamrocks Against Dystrophy. However, the company exceeded their own goal and raised more than $300,000.

Bojangles' announced its successful fundraising effort at 3 p.m. Thursday at their restaurant located on Third Street in Charlotte. Randy Kibler, Bojangles' President and CEO, and Theresa Miller, the MDA Regional Coordinator, made the announcement.

The money will be used to send children affected by neuromuscular disease to the MDA Summer Camp. The company estimates 375 children will be sent to the camp this year, which is designed offers a wide range of activities specially designed for children ages 6 to 17 who are affected by such diseases.

This marks the 10th year Bojangles' has held the fundraiser.
