CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools parents will be surveyed about a plan to reassign students to different schools.

The Board of Education will vote on student assignment goals on Feb. 23. The survey will close the day before.

Tuesday night’s CMS meeting comes days before the survey is released to the public.

The survey and decisions on the issue could have a major impact on every student in CMS and where they go to school.

Students could be reassigned as soon as the 2017-2018 school year.

In the survey, participants will be asked questions about school diversity, class size, test scores and bus routes.
