Police said the investigation started after reports of inappropriate text messages between Pickard, 28, and a student were discovered.
"Throughout this investigation, we have found no evidence of physical contact between Pickard and any student," said Police Chief Carl Robbins. "The charges are all related to inappropriate text messaging between January 1 and September 8 of this year."
Pickard is facing two counts of indecent liberties with a child and was released from jail on a $50,000 bond.
Mooresville police are continuing to investigate the incident and if you have any information you are asked to call the police department at 704-664-3311.
