GASTONIA, N.C.,None — Police arrested a Gastonia man Friday after they said he collected money for a fake charity.
Authorities charged Jacky Dean Moore, 48, with obtaining property by false pretenses.
Investigators said Moore told patrons of DT's Billiards he was collecting money for a child with leukemia. According to the arrest warrant Moore collected about $500 at the city bar on May 15.
Moore was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.
