Hyundai Recalls 2011 Sonata

None — Hyundai is recalling nearly 140,000 of its 2011 Sonatas over fears a potential steering problem could cause a crash.

The company says concerns about the construction assembly of the steering column could cause a driver to lose control and possibly lead to a crash.

The safety recall, set to begin in October, only affects 2011 Sonatas built from Dec. 11, 2009, through Sept. 10. According to the federal government website for motor vehicle recalls, owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-800-633-5151. Dealers will inspect the the steering column for proper assembly, as well as update the power steering software free of charge.
