Kenseth's wife taken to hospital after crash at speedway

CHARLOTTE, N.C.,None — NASCAR driver Matt Kenseth's wife, Katie, is out of the hospital after she crashed during a practice run for an exhibition race on Monday night.

Matt Kenseth tweeted that she has a broken shoulder blade and some bumps and bruises. Kenseth was treated and released from the hospital.

She was driving a Bandolero car during practice at the Charlotte Motor Speedway for the inaugural "Better Half Dash."

The "Better Half Dash" will be held on Oct. 15. NASCAR wives and girlfriends will race in a 25-lap fundraising event.

The event benefits the Speedway Children's Charities and Motor Racing Outreach.
