CHARLOTTE — A man was killed and someone else was hurt in a collision late Thursday night in south Charlotte, authorities said.

Channel 9 arrived at the scene of the Interstate 485 inner loop near Johnston Road and saw several first responders.

The road reopened at about 1:40 a.m. Friday.

According to highway patrol, Sammy Hajmahmoud got out of his car after it stalled on I-485 when he was hit by another car.

The inner loop was shut down to traffic at about 10:40 p.m., which caused major delays while troopers investigated.

No further information has been released.
