CHARLOTTE — A crash involving a utility pole shut down a busy northwest Charlotte road Wednesday morning and sent a person to the hospital.
The crash happened along Pleasant Grove Road, east of Brookshire Boulevard. Part of the road was shut down while Duke Energy crews worked to fix the poles. Six outages were associated with the crash.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police had barricades set up in the area just after 6 a.m. One person was sent to the hospital, according to paramedics. A Channel 9 crew could see a car flipped over at the scene.
The cause of the crash is unknown. Channel 9 is working to learn more.
