1 injured in east Charlotte stabbing, MEDIC says

CHARLOTTE — One person was injured in a stabbing in east Charlotte, MEDIC said.

MEDIC responded to the intersection of Woodland Drive and Commonwealth Avenue around 3:40 p.m. Saturday.

Officials said one person was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

The stabbing appears to have occurred on a Charlotte Area Transit System bus.

Channel 9 was at the scene and saw Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police cruisers pull over a bus. An ambulance took someone from the scene, and police were seen questioning a man.

No additional details have been made available.
