CHARLOTTE — Someone was shot during an attempted robbery at about 9:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Waffle House on Stetson Drive in University City, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.
Officers said someone with a gun went inside the restaurant and tried to rob it.

The suspect fled while firing the weapon, according to investigators.
A short time later, officers found the shooting victim at Atrium Health University City. They had injuries that were described as non life-threatening.
The investigation is ongoing.
