October is one of the deadliest months for traffic crashes in North Carolina.
Even though traffic volume is down about 15% due to the pandemic, troopers said the number of crashes and fatalities has not gone down at the same rate.
Channel 9 spoke with Haley Wagner who said she lost two family members when a drunk driver crashed into them last year.

“My grandmother was killed and so was Ethan,” Wagner said. “This accident was 100% preventable.”
