There are just over a dozen active cases left at a Granite Falls nursing facility.
A COVID-19 outbreak was identified at Hickory Falls Health and Rehabilitation. County officials said Wednesday that 102 residents and 49 staff tested positive for the virus since December.

This isn’t the first outbreak the facility has had. In July, the facility reported two staff members testing positive. By the end of July, the facility had 10 staff and two residents who tested positive.
The Caldwell County Health Department says of those combined 151 cases, only 13 are still active.
The outbreak was not immediately identified because cases were reported directly to the state and not to the county health department.
Hickory Falls is licensed for 120 beds.
WSOC reached out to the facility for any additional information on the outbreak.
