2 charged in Iredell County wire theft

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — Two men have been charged after deputies say they stole electrical wire from a house in Iredell County.

Deputies say they got a call from the owner of a home under renovation Friday morning. They said they saw a person leaving their house and found a large amount of wire that had been taken.

Deputies found the stolen items and the suspects, Jesse Anderson and Tomi Smith nearby.

Deputies say they recovered about $2,000 worth of stolen property.

The two men are facing felony charges of breaking and entering, larceny, and possession of burglary tools.
