MOUNT HOLLY, N.C. — Police are investigating two shootings that happened late Monday in Mount Holly, and first responders say two people were killed just minutes apart.
Gaston Emergency Medical Services told Channel 9 that the first shooting happened just before 9 p.m. Monday on Grand Haven Drive.
Shortly after the shooting on Grand Haven Drive, first responders were called to another deadly shooting on Noell Drive.
According to court records obtained by Channel 9, police arrested a suspect in the Grand Haven Drive shooting. The suspect in that shooting was identified as 25-year-old Jaelen Michael Lee Drum, and he is charged with second-degree murder.
It’s not clear if the shootings are connected at this time. We’re looking into what may have led up to the shootings.
We’re asking the Mount Holly and Gaston County police departments for more information on the victims, and if any arrests have been made.
