2 shot dead at Lancaster Co. night club

LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. — Two men were shot and killed overnight at a nightclub in Lancaster County.

Deputies with the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office found Jonathan Duvall Reid, 25, of Lancaster, lying on the ground in front of The Cafe nightclub on Old Landsford after he had been shot, according to a press release from the sheriff's office.

Authorities also found Azor Lee Cloud, 30, of Lancaster, lying in the middle of the road.

Cloud was pronounced dead on the scene from an apparent gunshot wound. Reid was taken by ambulance to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

Investigators responded to the scene around 11 p.m. and found multiple shell casings in the roadway and on the sidewalk in front of the club.

Deputies interviewed many witnesses, but all maintained that didn’t seen what happened, officials say.

Reid had just been released from jail on March 1 after he was able to post a $50,000 bond, according to the release.

Reid was being held on a murder charge after his bond was originally denied at the time of his arrest in 2010. Reid had been ordered to be under 24/7 house arrest. He was not ordered to have GPS monitoring, the release states.

"We have started a detailed investigation and no stone will go unturned until we find out who is responsible for these deaths," Sheriff Barry Faile said. " It’s frustrating when there were so many people there and no one is willing to come forward with information."

Investigators are asking anyone with information on the shooting to call the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office at 283-4136 or contact Crimestopper’s at 1-888-Crime SC (1-888-274-6372).
