BETHLEHEM, N.C. — Two women were arrested at a Bethlehem business following an investigation into alleged prostitution activity, according to the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrested the women Tuesday at Energy Wellness Center after receiving complaints about suspected activity at the business. Investigators conducted an investigation that led to the charges.
According to court documents, an undercover officer went to the business as part of the investigation. One of the suspects is also accused of trying to bribe a deputy during her arrest.
Yuxiang Huang, 47, of Hickory, was charged with felony promoting prostitution for profit, felony conspiracy and misdemeanor resisting a public officer. Huang is being held at the Alexander County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond. Her first court appearance is scheduled for Monday.
Na Yu, 49, of Hickory, was charged with felony promoting prostitution for profit, felony conspiracy, felony offering bribes, misdemeanor prostitution and misdemeanor resisting a public officer. Yu is being held at the Alexander County Detention Center under a $160,000 secured bond. Her first court appearance is scheduled for Monday.
The investigation remains ongoing.
