CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Suspects driving a stolen lime green sports car crashed into another vehicle while trying to elude police Saturday afternoon at Pence Road and Harrisburg Road.

Police said the vehicle was taken during an armed carjacking at 10730 Providence Road.

Two suspects were taken into custody and police are looking for a third.

Officers attempted to stop the suspects during a traffic stop, but they fled in the vehicle.

Police said that during the pursuit, the car struck another vehicle and continued driving.

The car was rendered inoperable from the wreck.

One of the suspects jumped out of the vehicle and ran with a gun. Officers captured two without incident, police said.

The K-9 Unit responded and attempted to locate the third suspect, but still haven’t found him.

The K-9 located the gun the suspect had dropped, police said.

Channel 9 talked to teens who were playing soccer nearby and saw the suspect run into the woods and then officers follow with their guns drawn.

"I've never seen something like this before. I was kind of scared,” Anthony Amaya said.

No injuries were reported.
