$41 million contract for new fire station at Charlotte airport

CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte Douglas Airport is receiving a new fire station.

The city said the airport needs another fire station to meet FAA response time requirements, with the new runway being built.

It has to be operational before the runway is commissioned.

The Charlotte City Council will vote on a $41 million contract with a construction management company Monday night.
