CHARLOTTE, N.C. — On Saturday roughly 5,500 Charlotte area residents joined the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. The walk and 5K united the Charlotte community to celebrate breast cancer survivors, educate about reducing the breast cancer risk and raise funds to provide services and support life-saving research. The event raised $250,000 that will support the American Cancer Society’s efforts to find cures and provide programs and services for those facing the disease. This year was the 12th year of the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event in Charlotte.
