Accident involving gasoline tanker causing delays on Interstate 485

CHARLOTTE — An accident involving a gasoline tanker is causing delays on Interstate 485 near mile marker 10.

Around 2 p.m., Charlotte fire officials tweeted that a motor vehicle accident involving a gasoline tanker caused a gas leak.

The leak was under control within 30 minutes and no injuries have been reported.

Detours are being set by law enforcement. Drivers are urged to seek alternate routes.

NCDOT said this collision is expected to have a high impact on traffic. The exit to Interstate 85.
