Action 9: Contractor damaged man's septic tank

None — Joe Ford said a contractor he hired to pump out his septic tank damaged it while removing the top.

“What they done, they took the shovel and steel bar and just beating on it,” he said.

Ford said he complained to workers from Autry Septic Tank and Concrete and made several calls to the office. But after nearly a year, Ford said the company has done nothing but make promises.

He’s concerned rain will seep in through the cracks and overflow the tank.

“And once that tank overruns and it starts backing up in the house, that’s the problem,” he said.

So Action 9 called Autry Septic.

The owner, Steve Autry, declined an on-camera interview, but said he had been busy and forgot about Ford. He said the damage to the tank would not affect how the septic system operates.

But the company replaced the top a few days later. When the top was removed, it was clear the tank had a large crack in it.

Autry promised Action 9 he would return to Ford’s home and fix the crack, too.
