Action 9 saves viewers more than $250,000

CHARLOTTE — Action 9′s Jason Stoogenke has saved viewers more than a quarter of a million dollars, and he’s not done yet.

Just recently, a family who moved to Charlotte last summer was charged nearly $6,000 for a rental truck that U-Haul said was missing. The family said they returned the truck and left the keys in the drop box as instructed through the app, but got a call from the company a month later saying the truck was still considered missing.

Action 9′s Jason Stoogenke contacted the company and the extra charges were dismissed.

A few months ago, Channel 9 reported that Volkswagen had recalled hundreds of thousands of SUVs because of issues with airbags and brakes.

A Union County grandmother reached out to Channel 9 about her worry driving the car with her grandchildren on board. Action 9 stuck with the case and helped the woman get back almost $40,000 when the company bought back her vehicle.

Back in April, a mother contacted Channel 9 after her daughter spent hundreds on Amazon for a gaming computer that didn’t work through a third-party seller.

The family sent back the computer, but months passed and nothing happened.

“That’s when I contacted you guys,” she told Action 9. “If you’re going to slay a giant, you’ve got to get a giant slayer and that’s Jason Stoogenke.”

Stoogenke emailed Amazon and the third-party seller and Amazon refunded the daughter around $560 a week later.
