A private school built around artificial intelligence will open its doors in north Charlotte this fall, a year later than originally planned.
Alpha Charlotte is part of a national push by Alpha Schools, a venture-backed network of AI-powered private schools. The Austin, Texas-based company plans to grow from about a dozen campuses to roughly 50 this school year, with Charlotte among 27 markets opening new locations.
Raleigh is also opening this fall, the only other Carolina campus in Alpha’s current expansion. Both were first announced for the 2025-26 school year.
