ALBEMARLE, N.C. — A substitute teacher in Albemarle, North Carolina was arrested and charged Thursday after she reportedly threatened mass violence at a school.
Police said 43-year-old Khadija Wilkins was charged with felony mass violence on education property and misdemeanor disorderly conduct in a public building.

She was arrested Thursday evening.
Officials said she was working at Albemarle Middle School on Badin Road Thursday morning when she became belligerent toward the students and started calling them names.
During the incident, Wilkins made threats of mass violence toward the school. Eventually, the school resource officer stepped in and removed her from campus before anyone could get hurt.

She is being held under a $30,000 bond and is expected to appear in court on March 23.
