CHARLOTTE, N.C. — On Saturday, three former NBA players shared a message of unity in Charlotte.

Stephen Jackson, Rasheed Wallace and Jeff McInnis led a march on Beatties Ford Road calling for social justice and equality.

Jackson, a former Charlotte Bobcat, has been very vocal since George Floyd’s death. He calls him his brother and said his death should be used to create change.

“God put me in a position, 18 countries and 50 states, all protesting for the same thing. For love. For all of us to stand together. For Black people to be treated like human beings,” Jackson said.

The group also fed community members and Mayor Vi Lyles was there to help.

On Friday, the group joined volunteers with Block Love Charlotte to serve lunch in uptown.

Wallace and Jackson have been traveling from city to city giving back. McInnis is a west Charlotte graduate and said he was happy to join them in his hometown.
