The Sheriff’s Office were notified that the children’s mother, Amanda J. Redmon, 26, of 119 Yates Street, Dallas, was allegedly driving them to the beach. Amanda Redmon was not supposed to be alone with her children.

Detectives went to the home where the children were supposed to be staying with their grandmother.

Amanda Redmon woke up Tuesday and took the children to breakfast, the grandmother told detectives.

That was the last time the grandmother saw the children and their mom.

Detectives learned that the three were not in North Carolina and got felony child abduction warrants. An Amber Alert was soon issued.

Amanda Redmon’s vehicle was spotted in College Park, Georgia. She was arrested and the kids were found safe.

“I am very thankful the children were located safe and are now back safe with family members,” Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell said. “A lot of hard work went into locating them and the suspect. I want to personally thank the United States Marshal’s Service, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, College Park Georgia Police Department and the many other law enforcement agencies who assisted us in this investigation.”
