American Airlines Group Inc. said on Wednesday it is discontinuing several routes that were once popular leisure destinations but are expected to see decreased demand as a result of the pandemic. In Charlotte, it will no longer operate transatlantic flights to Paris, Rome and Barcelona, Spain.

American had operated those three seasonal routes at CLT from May through October. The Charlotte-Paris route launched in 2009, with service from Charlotte to Rome following a year later. Flights to Barcelona from Charlotte Douglas began in 2014.
