CHARLOTTE — The American Heart Association has set up kiosks with pressure-checking cuffs at four Charlotte-area YMCA locations.
The new resource is free, even for non-members.
According to Allison Nelson with the AHA, hypertension is often called the “silent killer.”
“There’s minimal symptoms that can occur, so having people know their numbers, checking frequently and having this free access really helps them to make informed decisions about their healthcare,” Nelson said.
The kiosks are located at the Brace Family, McCrorey, Morrison Family and Simmons Y locations.
