Anthony Foxx receives ceremonial swearing-in from VP Biden

WASHINGTON — Former Charlotte Mayor Anthony Foxx received his ceremonial swearing-in as the nation's new Transportation Secretary.

Vice President Joe Biden read the oath at Foxx's new office.

The Senate approved his nomination unanimously.

Foxx was sworn in as the nation's 17th Secretary of Transportation on July 2.

Foxx will lead more than 55,000 employees and a $70 billion budget that oversees air, maritime, and surface transportation.
