An argument over a mess in the kitchen almost got someone killed in Union County.
On Sept. 12, deputies responded to a home on Eastwood Drive in Wingate after receiving a call about shots being fired, according to the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
When deputies arrived, they discovered a male had been shot near his ankle.
As the investigation continued, deputies determined that Jayden Sturdivant shot his cousin after an argument over a mess in the kitchen.
Sturdivant was arrested and charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon. He was given a $25,000 bond before being released.
