HICKORY, N.C. — A Morganton man will serve at least 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to robbing a Hickory pharmacy.
Police arrested 30-year-old Marshall Freeman, who they said pulled out a handgun and demanded pills last February at the CVS Pharmacy on Second Street Northeast in Hickory.
Officials said Freeman will serve his sentence at the end of the term he currently is serving for May 2018 convictions on similar charges from Gaston County.
The pharmacist told police that when he saw the gun, he gave Freeman the medication.

Police said Freeman admitted to the robbery and when police found him he had the pills and a gun in the car.
He was also wanted in Gaston County for robbery, officials said.
