Thousands take part in Around the Crown 10K Race on Sept. 6, 2026 in Charlotte, North Carolina

CHARLOTTE — A swarm of runners filled the streets in Charlotte’s Uptown and South End early Sunday morning for the eighth annual Around the Crown 10K race.

Channel 9 covered the race from start to finish, and our cameras caught runners passing iconic spots with the Queen City skyline in the background.

Just after the 30-minute mark, the first runner crossed the finish line. Thousands more runners filled the rest of the course behind him.

  • Men’s winner: Hamza Chahid; 30:15
  • Women’s winner: Erin Del Giudice; 34:38
  • Wheelchair Women’s winner: Malavika Kalani; 33:31
  • Wheelchair Men’s winner: Sam Bores; 59:25
  • Stroller Women’s winner: Hannah Holub; 48:26
  • Stroller Men’s winner: Arthur Drexler; 39:25
