CHARLOTTE — Two local hospital systems are lifting their visitor restrictions that were instated late last year, during a period with a high level of respiratory illnesses.
Novant Health and Atrium Health both announced the changes on Monday. The decisions eliminate the changes made to the visitor policies on Nov. 15.

Starting Tuesday at 7 a.m., all Novant facilities and Charlotte-area Atrium facilities will lift their flu and RSV-related visitor restrictions that limit visitors under age 13, according to two news releases.
Atrium attributed the change to a “significant drop in the number of patients being seen with flu-like symptoms.”
Both Atrium and Novant said all other restrictions will remain in place, including the mask requirement for all visitors.
