STATESVILLE, N.C. — A Statesville man was charged Friday in connection with a January break-in at the Dunkin’ Donuts on North Carolina Highway 16 Business.
Deputies were called to the break-in around 2 a.m. on Jan. 25 and found a front window had been broken with a large rock.
An employee had gone out to the front of the store that morning and noticed the shattered window.
Aaron Dean Helton, 42, of Statesville, was charged in Lincoln County with one felony count each of breaking and entering a building, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of stolen goods, safe-cracking and damage to property.
He also faces outstanding warrants for break-ins in Catawba and Iredell counties.
