CHARLOTTE, N.C. — An autopsy report just shed new light on the disturbing death of a North Carolina airman's toddler.
The report showed 15-month-old Matthew Theurer was severely malnourished and died of neglect.
His body was found in March in a plastic bag along a Columbus County road.
His father, Matthew, is a senior airman at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.
Police said the child would be left alone for 12 hours a day while his father worked.
